(A) Eliud KIPCHOGE
(B) Alexander Mutiso MUNYAO
(C) Tadese TAKELE
(D) Kelvin Kiptum
Correct Option is: D
Kelvin Kiptum, the current world record holder for marathons, and his coach Gervais Hakizimana perished in a car crash outside Eldoret, a town in the Rift Valley. World Athletics only a few days ago endorsed Kiptum’s world record performance of 2:00:35 for the marathon, which he set in October of last year in the Chicago Marathon. Before establishing that record pace, he had simply moved from shorter distance events to the marathon. He beat fellow Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge, who is regarded as the greatest marathoner of all time, with a performance that was 50 seconds faster than his own personal best. It was often accepted that Kiptum was Kipchoge’s heir and a potential candidate to finish the marathon in under two hours.
